Easy Homemade Pizza Crust (No Knead, Yeast Free)

Easy Homemade Pizza

Homemade pizza doesn’t have to be complicated – This no-frills, easy pizza crust requires no kneading and no yeast (which means no waiting!). It also happens to be dairy and egg free, as many pizza crusts naturally are. Just mix it up, roll or press it into a pan with some parchment paper, and top with your favorite toppings before baking! My three year old and I made this for lunch yesterday, and the cook time and prep combined was only about 30 minutes.

It’s April, the weather was terrible yesterday (cold with high winds, rain, and snow), and we’re stuck at home due to the pandemic. So we decided to make pizza… again. We’ve been making a ton of pizza lately. It’s a fun food that’s easy for toddlers to help with, and any time is a good time for pizza!

I’m always experimenting in the kitchen and had to try making my own crust. I haven’t found a simple, quick, minimal ingredient pizza crust that I like yet, and it’s been on my list of things to try.

Easy Homemade Pizza

We all love my easy yeast free (vegan) focaccia bread, so I took that as a starter recipe and modified it from there. I have nothing against baking with yeast… it just 1.) intimidates me a little… 2.) is something I never have on hand. Anyway, it turned out GREAT! It was the perfect amount for my small family, and my 7 month old daughter even had a few bites of the edges.

This no-knead, no yeast easy homemade pizza crust uses just a few ingredients, and is naturally egg and dairy free! Just mix up your ingredients, press or roll, top as desired, and bake! If you're dairy free, substitute your favorite DF cheese in place of mozzarella. This is a fun recipe for kids to help with, and you can be eating homemade pizza in about 30 minutes.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 2/3 cup water
  • 1/4 cup oil (olive oil, canola oil, or vegetable oil – I used a mix of both olive and vegetable oils)

Suggested Toppings

  • 1/3 to 1/2 cup pizza sauce or marinara sauce
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese (or DF cheese)
  • 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning (optional)
  • Meat and/or veggies of choice

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 400F.
  • Whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and garlic powder in a large bowl.
  • Add water and oil and stir with a large spoon (wooden spoons work great!) until ingredients are well combined, and a dough is formed.
  • Line an 11×16" baking sheet with parchment paper. Press or roll dough into the pan (if rolling, use a second sheet of parchment on top to roll out), spreading to the edges.
Alternatively, you could roll out into about a 10" round pizza.
  • Top dough with sauce and your cheese/toppings of choice. Sprinkle Italian seasoning on top.
  • Bake about 15-18 minutes (depending on amount of toppings–more toppings may take longer), until cheese is golden brown.
