They come together quickly, as all ingredients are mixed together in one bowl and shaped into snack sized bites.

The recipe is versatile, and the seasonings and ingredients can be tweaked to your preferences. I went a little easy on the garlic, but some might like more. A few red pepper flakes would give it a nice kick, if that’s your style. Or you could go Italian style, and add basil, oregano, and parmesan. You could even make it extra hearty and add some bacon bits and cheddar. The options are endless!

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground turkey
  • 2 cup cups uncooked sweet potato
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 Tbsp chives (fresh or dried)
  • 1 tsp extra virgin olive oil
  • 2 Tbsp flour of choice (gluten free also works)

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
  • Finely chop, shred, or food process the raw sweet potatoes.
  • Mix sweet potatoes and all remaining ingredients together in a bowl, using hands or a large spoon.
  • Roll mixture into balls approximately 1 1/2 inch in diameter, and flatten with hands to make small patties.
  • Place patties onto greased baking sheet with edges (to prevent oven messes).
  • Bake for 18-22 minutes, flipping patties at around the half way point.
  • (Broil for a minute or two on each side if you want extra crunch!)
  • Serve hot with dipping sauce of choice.

Notes

  • Serve with ranch, ketchup, or sauce of choice.
  • These may also be made into larger patties for turkey burgers.
  • Tweak the seasonings to your liking! For example, add red pepper flakes or chili powder for an extra kick.

ENJOY!
