You’ll just need a pound of ground turkey and a few pantry staples (including applesauce) to make these simple meatballs. These meatballs are egg free, dairy free, and gluten free, making them allergy friendly for many of the common allergens.

Applesauce helps bind these versatile egg free meatballs, and crushed cereal helps them retain moisture. This allergy friendly meatballs recipe requires no eggs, no dairy, and no wheat or gluten, making them great for a group!

Make Ahead and Freeze

To make these egg free meatballs ahead of time, prepare and bake as directed. After baking the meatballs, place on a paper towel lined plate to cool. Once cooled, place in a single layer in the freezer just until frozen (you can use a clean sheet pan or a plate). Once frozen, transfer meatballs to an airtight plastic bag (AKA Ziploc), separating any that may have frozen together. Store in the freezer until you’re ready to use!

Easily thaw a few of these versatile egg and dairy free meatballs for an easy dinner protein option, or to send with a daycare or school lunch.

This recipe can easily be doubled for a larger family, or for two meals.

How to Make Eggless Meatballs

  • Preheat oven to 400F. Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil, and spray with cooking spray.
  • Combine all ingredients in a large bowl, mixing with a fork or using clean hands.
  • Using your hands, roll meat mixture into balls, using around 1 heaping Tablespoon for each one. I usually get around 25-30 meatballs per batch (more or less is also fine – just adjust the bake time, and cook to 165F).
  • Place onto prepared baking sheet, with a gap in between each one. Bake for around 15 minutes, or until beginning to brown and internal temp reaches 165F.
